Only some of them have clear cut ideas of what they want to be. It is better to make use of professionals as they are most likely to take a neutral stand. In today’s world there is no such thing as job security. Hence parents should encourage children to be entrepreneurs. While there is nothing wrong in working for a salary it is always safe to do something on one’s own especially if one is working in a private sector.
It is better to make a living by doing what we enjoy doing rather than by doing something we do not like. Many people take up jobs just because they need money leading frustrated lives because they do not like those jobs.
While we all have to do some things we do not necessarily like, it is better to find out something we are passionate about and then turn that into a source of income. Hence career guidance is very important during late adolescence.
