My 14 months old son not eating!!!!

I am working mother of 14 months old son.
Since he entered his 14 month he is not eating properly. I used to feed him by spoon. But now he wants to eat by himself. Whenever I feed him he starts saying no and points to give something else.He keeps crying hard to fulfill his demand and if its not fulfilled then he rejects everything. He shows his anger on food and doesn't eat at all. I try to give him as much variety I can. So that he gets attracted to food!
I think he is going through different stage where he knows how to get things done if he cry hard!!!!
So I stopped feeding him anymore and keeps his dish in front of him.
Mostly we all sit together on dinning table and take our dinner.
He looks happy to eat by his own hand and finishes almost more than half in his plate.
I am happy that atleast he is eating something. So this was my story!!!!
